WASHINGTON D.C. - A visiting group, the 'Patriotic Love for Nation U.S. Washington Delegation,' seeking to bolster South Korea's liberal democracy and the U.S.-ROK alliance, drew attention by submitting a petition with approximately 1.2 million signatures to the White House.
Gathered at Lafayette Square in front of the White House on the 23rd (local time), the delegation submitted a petition requesting the appointment of Morse Tan (former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice, KCPAC Co-Chairman) as the next U.S. Ambassador to South Korea.
This action was more than a mere request for an appointment; it conveyed the resolve that the U.S.-ROK alliance must be elevated to an 'alliance of values where freedom and faith intersect.'
Following guidance from a White House official, the delegation officially submitted the petition via mail-in reception. Consequently, the document, carrying the wishes of 1.2 million people, was formally delivered to the White House. This marks a symbolic event where a unified delegation of conservative and patriotic South Korean civic groups delivered a strong message from the heart of Washington.
